Since leaving 525, he has worked on many different projects including commercials, music videos, Live concerts and stand up comedy , Documentaries and Indie Films, along with working as a freelance cameraman / editor for numerous other adventure specials. He has interviewed some of the most interesting people on earth including Abbie Hoffman(writer, activist), Hunter S. Thompson(writer, activist), Naomi Wolf, M. L. King III, Roy Disney, Jack Nelson(60s journalist), Unita Blackwell, Phil Spector(music producer), Robert Swan (arctic explorer)and Many more.

Outside of Filmmaking, Franklin has has traveled extensively throughout the World, lived on the central coast of Australia in the 80's, worked with the Miss. Blues Archives, as a radio DJ(U92), as a fashion phtographer.
